GSU Undergraduate Degree Admission Requirements 2024/2025

Suppose you have been waiting on the Gombe State University (GSU) admission process for 2024/2025. Listed below are the Gombe State University undergraduate degrees they offer and the admission requirements for each program. General requirements for the undergraduate admission process;

  • Five credit passes in your O’level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), including English and Mathematics, not more than two (2) sittings before you can study at GSU.

GSU Full-Time Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Suppose you want full-time admission into Gome State University, Gombe, for an undergraduate degree for the 2024/2025 session. 

  • Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC or NECO, result (in a maximum of two sittings).
  • You will not be considered for admission if you do not participate in the GSU screening exercise.
  • Gombe State University must be your first choice of institution. If not, you’ll have to change the institution in your JAMB profile and make it your first, or you won’t be considered for admission.

JAMB Admission Requirements

If you will be sitting for the 2024 JAMB and wish to gain admission into Renaissance University through UTME. For admission into the 100 level;

  • Candidates must have a satisfactory score in the JAMB UTME examination.
  • At least five credits in relevant WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Senior School level Subjects or equivalent in relevant subjects, including English language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
  • Candidates must be at least the age of 16.
  • Candidates must score at least 160 for Degree Programmes in Science, Education, and Arts and Social Sciences and 200 for Medicine, Pharmacy and Law Programmes in the JAMB UTME examination.
  • Candidates must take the GSU post-UTME screening examination and must perform very well in the examination.
  • Finally, candidates must meet the stipulated cutoff marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.

Direct-Entry Admission Requirements

Direct entry applicants must have:

  1. Five credit passes in relevant subjects, including the English Language, and a pass in Mathematics at the SSCE level at not more than two sittings.
  2. Candidates are expected to get a JAMB Direct entry form from JAMB to apply.
  3. Candidates should have the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN.
  4. GSU also accept a minimum of Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND) and other Advanced Level Certificates depending on the course.
  5. In some cases, GSU accepts JUPEB and IJMB A-level results, but you must have a good result before applying.

GSU HND to Degree Top-Up Admission Requirements

No means are available to top-up their Higher National Diploma to an undergraduate degree in GSU. Interested candidates can always contact the school for details about how they can top-up their HND to a degree.

Inter-University Transfer Degree Admission Requirements

All applicants looking to transfer from their current university to Gombe State University (GSU) must meet the following requirements;

  • Applicants must be an active student at their current university.
  • Applicants must buy and apply for the GSU Inter-University transfer application form from the University.
  • Also, All applicants must possess all results from their previous university.

GSU Part-Time Degree Admission Requirements

Here are the requirements for Gombe State University Part-time undergraduate degree 2024/2025 session;

  • Candidates must purchase and apply for the part-time undergraduate admission form.
  • Candidates for admission into six years (Level 100) should possess five (5) relevant Credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), which must include English Language and Mathematics.
  • Lastly, Candidates for admission into five years (Level 200) should possess in addition to five (5) relevant Credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), which must include English Language and Mathematics.

GSU Sandwich Programme Admission Requirements

Unfortunately, Gombe State University currently does not offer a sandwich degree.

Gombe State University Postgraduate Requirements 2024/2025

Suppose you have been waiting for the Gombe State University (GSU) process for the 2024/2025 academic session. Below are their postgraduate programs and their respective minimum requirements. 

  • Firstly, All applicants must possess the minimum O’Level requirements of five (5) relevant credits, including English and Mathematics.
  • Secondly, All applicants must purchase the postgraduate form for a non-refundable fee of 10,000 to apply.
  • All applicants must have their transcript from their previous University.
  • All applicants must be graduates and degree holders of a NUC-recognized University.
  • Lastly, applicants must possess an NYSC discharge to be considered for postgraduate at GSU.

GSU Full-Time Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

These are the general minimum requirements to gain Admission into GSU Full-time Degree Admission;

  • All applicants must possess the minimum O’Level requirements of five (5) relevant credits, including English and Mathematics.
  • All applicants must graduate from the Gombe State University or other recognized Universities. 
  • Applicants must graduate from Gombe State University or any recognized university with at least a 3rd class honours degree.

Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate

Applicants looking out for the Postgraduate Diploma at Gombe State University must meet the following requirements;

  1. Graduate of Gombe State University or any other recognized University.
  2. Higher National Diploma (HND) holders with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant discipline.
  3. Holders of other professional qualifications which may be acceptable to the University Senate.

Furthermore, For applicants in the Department of Business Administration;

  • Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (in any administration-related major) from Gombe State University or any accredited institution at home and abroad at a minimum CGPA or equivalent of 2.00 or Third Class are eligible.
  • Applicants with a minimum of B.A./B.Sc./B.Tech./HND from any other field of study from a recognized University or Polytechnic may be considered. 
  • Applicants of recognized Chartered Institutes or Professional bodies at a minimum of Upper Credit or its equivalent may be considered. 

Master’s Degree Programme

Applicants applying for a Master’s Degree for the 2024/2025 academic session should check the following requirements.

  • Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC or NECO, result (in a maximum of two sittings).
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any specialization from Gombe State University or any accredited institution at home and abroad with a minimum of Second Class Lower.
  • Candidates who possess a postgraduate Diploma may also apply.

Additionally, For applicants in the Department of Economics, 

  • Candidates must possess at least a Second Class Lower Division Honours degree in Economics from Gombe State University or any recognized University.
  • Candidates with a good Second Class Lower Division Honours degree in Economics Education from Gombe State University or any other recognized University may be considered.
  • Applicants with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification from a recognized University must possess a postgraduate diploma to apply.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

Candidates who have obtained appropriate Master’s degrees from Gombe State University or other recognized universities qualify for Doctorate Degree admission. The following are the requirements for the GSU Doctorate programme;

  • Graduate of Gombe State University in Accounting or any other recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division.
  • Candidates must possess at least a Second Class Lower Division Honours degree from Gombe State University or any other recognized University may be considered.
  • Also, candidates with a past bachelor’s Degree must possess a PGD.

GSU Part-Time Postgraduate Admission Eligibility 2024/2025

Finally, for applicants looking out for the admission requirements for Gombe State University part-time postgraduate 2024/2025 session.

  • Five credit passes in relevant subjects, including the English Language, and a pass in Mathematics at the SSCE level at not more than two sittings.
  • Applicants must purchase the GSU postgraduate form, which only costs a non-refundable fee of 10,000 naira.
  • NYSC discharge certificate is required for you to apply, or applicants must tender an exemption letter.
  • Graduates of Gombe State University or other recognized universities with at least a Third class honours degree.
