This work is based on the comparison between a Federal vs Private University in Osun State with the aim of determining which is better. We intend to achieve that by using various conditions to evaluate their differences or similarities.

Admission Process:
Admission to federal universities in Nigeria is highly competitive and is typically based on standardized entrance examinations such as the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Post-UTME screening. Bowen University school fees for both Fresh and returning students in 2023/2024 are between the range of a minimum of N600,000 to a maximum of N3,800,000. The specific cost is based on your level and course of study.
Fountain University school fees for 2023/2024 range from N400,000 to N700,000. This depends on your level and course of study.
Joseph Ayo Babalola University school fees range from N500,000 – N650,000, it also provides accommodation for its students and other infrastructure like a library and good college buildings.
Kings University school fees range between N400,000 -N500,000 and it Provides accommodation for its students.
For undergraduate students (fresh and returning) at Oduduwa University, the school fees range from N200,000 to N300,000 per semester.
Redeemer’s university school fees go for about N800,000 – N1,500,000 as it varies based on the different programs.

Looking at the result above, the Private Universities in Osun State are more expensive than the Federal Universities in the state.

In summary, the result shows that the admission requirement for the Federal University in Osun State is higher than the Private Universities in Osun. But The Federal University is cheaper and it is more culturally diversified. It also has a higher NUC ranking than the private University.
