About the World Bank Group Young Professionals Program 2021
The Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a unique opportunity for young professionals who possess both a drive for international development and the leadership potential to develop in fascinating top technical and managerial roles in the World Bank Group (WBG). Basically, the program is designed for motivated and highly qualified and individuals skilled in areas relevant to WBG operations such as economics, education, finance, public health, urban planning, social sciences, engineering, agriculture, natural resources, and so on.
To be in competition, candidates need to demonstrate a dedication to development, proven academic success, leadership capability, and professional achievement. Over the years, the Young Professionals Program has hired over 1,800 people for positions ranging from entry-level to vice presidents and managing directors. About 45 to 50 applicants are accepted into the program. Young Professionals are offered a five-year renewable term contract, spend 24 months in a structured development program, and enjoy a variety of benefits and opportunities.

In order to be considered for the World Bank Group Young Professionals Program 2021, there are certain eligibility criteria that are required of the applicants. Applicants must:
- Be born on or after 1st of October, 1988
- Have a Master’s or Doctoral degree
- Specialize in a field relevant to YPP Business Areas
- Demonstrate relevant professional experience or continued study at the doctoral level
- Be fluent in the English Language
The World Bank’s Group recruitment policy is to hire a staff of the highest caliber, on as wide a geographical basis as possible, with preference to nationals of WBG member countries or countries of operations. It should be noted that the World Bank Group Young Professional Program is open to all Nationalities.
To be competitive for the limited number of positions, a combination of the following credentials is highly desirable:

- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant trends in the sector
