The federal government of Nigeria established NBTE (National Board for Technical Education) in the year 1977. The sole aim of establishing this body is to accredit and supervise technical institutions in the country. NBTE have a lot of functions and some of them are the ones stated earlier but they also responsible for advising the Federal Government on, and coordinate all aspects of technical and vocational education falling outside the universities.

NBTE also have a lot of objectives and one of them is to consolidate and develop the nation’s system of higher education in response to the economy’s manpower need. Edo State was created on the 27th of August 1991 from the then Bendel State, the capital of the state is Benin City. It was bounded the south by Delta State, in the North by Kogi State, Anambra State to the east and Ondo State to the west. There are currently eighteen local government areas in Edo State.

Admission Requirement

The admission requirement is low as the JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) Examination is not needed. Candidates who are to apply for any of these institutions are expected to have five credits in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or in NECO (National Examination Council).
