What You Need to Know About Vocational Enterprise Institution

This kind of institution was established by the federal government to helps those who didn’t reach the admission required for Universities and also don’t have the resources to attend the universities in the country. So, they serve as an alternative route to universities and since the establishment of these institutions, there are over 70 such institutions in the country.

The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is no needed in such an institution and some of the skills learnt in such an institution includes welding, fashion designing, plumbing, graphic designing and a lot more.

Vocational enterprise institution also has made a lot of impacts on the country as its tens to reduce the illiteracy level in the country and also provides employment opportunities in the country.

What You Need to Know About NBTE

NBTE (National Board for Technical Education) is the body responsible for establishing technical institutions in the country. The institution established by this body includes monotechnics, college of health, vocational institutions and the various technical institution in the country.

The federal government established this body in 1977 and the mission of NBTE is to promote the production of skilled technical and professional manpower for the development and sustenance of the National Economy.  The body is also responsible for supervising the educational activities carried out by the various technical institution in the country.

What You Need to Know About Akwa Ibom State

In 1987 Ibrahim Babangida created Akwa Ibom State from the Formal Cross River state and the capital of the state is Uyo. The state has a total of 31 local government area and Oruk Anam is the biggest local government area in the state.

In 2016 the state population was recorded to be over five million and the state have currently had five universities. The universities in the state include three private, one state and one federal university.

Admission Requirement

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is not needed to study in most of the schools. Also, the candidates need to have at least five credits in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or in NECO (National Examination Council) to apply for any of the school.
