About the USAID RISE Challenge 2020

The aim of the challenge is to identify and fund the innovative application of proven or promising involvements that would bring a stop and respond to gender-based violence through programs that talk about the access, control, use, and management of the natural resources.

Replying to GBV stands a chance to deliver opportunities for both enhanced environmental action and women’s empowerment, but tackling and placing more attention on one issue without addressing the other is questionable to succeed. USAID’s RISE Challenge is looking forward to recognizing and implementing interventions that would contribute to reducing GBV in environmental programming. This challenge was created to fund establishments to innovatively adapt and enforce promising or proven methods that have been effectively used to bring a stop and respond to GBV in other subdivisions to environmental programming.

About the Challenge

The USAID RISE Challenge 2020 will draw insights from different advancement and humanitarian sectors that have proven or promising practices to address GBV. It incentivizes partnerships between environmental organizations, indigenous people’s organizations, local communities, and gender and GBV experts who can contribute to bridging the knowledge gaps and work towards developing an evidence base of effective GBV interventions. They are also looking forward to celebrating and spur a broad range of interventions that would be sustainable and integrable into USAID and partners’ environmental investments and programming.
