UNILAG Undergraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

JAMB Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) through the JAMB admission process must meet the following requirements.

  • Candidate must possess five (5) credits in O’Level or its equivalent as required by the Department of Interest.
  • Candidates must obtain at least 200 points in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) must have forwarded the candidate’s details to the University of Lagos.
  • The candidate must sit for the University POST-UTME Examination and obtain the minimum score.
  • Candidates must choose UNILAG as their first choice institute.

Pre-Degree to Full-Time Undergraduate Admission Requirements

All applicants must meet the Departmental minimum entry requirement of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents at not more than two sittings.

JUPEB to Full-Time Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the University of Lagos with a JUPEB certificate should fulfil the following requirements.

  • All applicants must meet the Departmental minimum entry requirement of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents at not more than two sittings.
  • Applicants must meet the general minimum JUPEB cut-off of 7 points.
  • Applicants must have the right subject combination for their respective fields of study.

Inter-University Transfer Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Candidate for transfer must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Must present their results showing their current CGPA;
  2. Must have obtained a CGPA of not less than 1.00;
  3. Must possess the pre-requisite ORDINARY/ADVANCED level subjects for admission into the intended program and
  4. Must have completed a minimum of 200 levels by the end of the 2022/2023 academic session.

UNILAG Part-Time Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Candidates interested in a part-time undergraduate degree at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2024/2025 academic session. Should look to meet the following requirements;

  • All candidates must have a minimum of Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent in a maximum of two sittings.

UNILAG Sandwich/ICE Degree Admission Requirements

Applicants interested in the University’s Sandwich program/Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) must possess at least one of the following before being considered for admission;

  • All candidates must have a minimum of Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent in a maximum of two sittings.
  • Candidates must possess a diploma certificate (OND or HND) from any polytechnic or NCE from any college of Education approved by the government.
  • Candidates must possess a GCE (A-Level) or Cambridge Examination or equivalent with principal passes in at least two (2) relevant subjects.
  • A JUPEB result with a minimum of 2.00 Points.
  • Candidates must be at least the age of 21.
  • Candidates are required to participate in an entrance examination.

Special/HND to Degree Top-Up Admission Requirements

The University of Lagos offers HND holders a chance to top-up to a BSc degree through direct entry into its 300 level. Interested candidates

  • Applicants must have a minimum of Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent in a maximum of two sittings.
  • Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant field.
  • They must possess either NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificates.

UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) offers two postgraduate programs, which are part-time and full-time. However, applicants can find the requirements for each program below.

An applicant for admission to a postgraduate program must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must possess a bachelor’s degree from the University or any approved University;
  2.  A person who holds other qualification(s) recognized by the senate of the University of Lagos;
  3. In addition to (i) and (ii) above, an applicant may be required to undergo a selection process in the form of written and oral examinations for admission.

Additionally, Interested applicants should note;

  • Candidates who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps program or are undergoing a Postgraduate program need not apply. Such applicants will be automatically disqualified.
  • Candidates awaiting the results of their bachelor’s degree need not apply.
  •  A holder of a Degree obtained from an Outreach/Satellite is not eligible to apply.
  • All academic transcripts must reach the Deputy Registrar/Administrative Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies; on or before the start of the session, admission is being sought.

UNILAG Full-Time Postgraduate Admission Eligibility
