About the UNIBEN JUPEB Admission Form for 2020/2021 Academic Session
The management of the University of Benin is inviting applications from candidates who are suitably qualified for the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) for the 2020/2021 academic year.
The programme will lead to the awarding of the JUPEB Certificate to successful candidates to enable them to gain Direct Entry admission into 200 levels. The admission permits candidates to study a degree course offered by the University of Benin and other JUPEB affiliated Universities in Nigeria and also universities abroad.
About the UNIBEN JUPEB Programme
Each candidate that gains admission to be a part of the programme will be exposed to intensive academic work in three subject combinations. The subject combinations to be taught are relevant to the candidate’s desired field of study. The subjects are further divided into four courses labeled 001,002, 003, & 004.
Each candidate is to take six courses for each semester which makes a total of twelve courses at the end of the programme. Candidates are also required to take a minimum of two general studies (one for each semester) in addition to the other courses.
At the end of each semester, each course will be examined but the results in all the courses taken will be combined at the end of the second semester in order to obtain a letter grade in each subject (i.e. A, B, C, D, E & F). The general studies candidates are required to chose will be based on general courses relevant to the candidate’s field of study.
In order to be given admission into the University of Benin and any other JUPEB affiliated institutions in Nigeria and abroad, each candidate in addition to passing the prescribed JUPEB examination for issuing Direct Entry Certificates, are required to satisfy all admission requirements determined by the department and faculties of candidates choice.

Admission Requirements, Subject Combinations & Duration
Candidates who desire admission into the JUPEB Foundation programme in the University of Benin must have a minimum of five (5) O’ level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language obtained in not more than two(2) sittings in GCE, SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).

Duration of Programme
The programme will run for a period of one academic session consisting of two semesters. The programme is strictly non-residential.
Mode of Study
The mode of study for the programme is face to face contact at the University of Benin or any other designated venue. Lectures will commence from 8 am-4 pm only on weekdays.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should purchase the UNIBEN JUPEB application form online if they meet up with the eligibility requirements. The application form is accessible at the university website via www.uniben.edu with any valid Verve Visa or Mastercard ATM Bank Card from any commercial bank in Nigeria. The application fee is non-refundable and costs fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00) excluding bank charges.
Candidates are required to correctly fill the application form with all required information before submitting online and thereafter printed out.
- Visit the application portal via https://uniben.waeup.org/applicants on the university website.
- Then, click on the Foundation Programme (JUPEB) Application 2020/2021 link to start the application process.
- Click on Register For Application, afterwards, you are to fill out the application. Make sure to read the instructions displayed on the page.
- Then, you are required to upload a recent passport size photograph. The passport photograph should be scanned and should not be more than three months old with a red background. Webcam photographs would be rejected.
- Thereafter, submit the online application form then print out a copy of the examination schedule slip. The examination schedule slip should have your username and password.
- Candidates should make sure they use valid telephone numbers and email addresses.

Note: candidates should take note of the following information.
- Candidates should make sure that their Bio-Data is correctly entered as no complaint about wrong bio-data will be entertained once the application is submitted.
- Candidates who upload application with wrong bio-data will automatically be disqualified and forfeit application fee.
- The only acceptable print out is coloured.
- Candidates are to print a minimum of four copies of the University of Benin online registration form that has a complete passport size photograph printed out in colour.
- Candidates should make sure they follow application instructions very carefully, making sure they select the right subject combinations relevant to their course of study.
Application Deadline
The application website will be closed by midnight on December 10th, 2020. All applications are to be conducted online and submitted before the deadline. After the deadline, any candidate who makes payment will not sit for the examination.
Entrance Examination
The following are information that candidates need to be aware of about the JUPEB entrance information:
- To gain admission into any JUPEB Programme, candidates will have to write an entrance examination to be conducted on 15th of December, 2020.
- The screening test will be computer-based (CBT).
