Candidates seeking Admission to Umar Musa Yar’ Adua University (UMYU) Katsina Postgraduate Diploma degree must meet the following requirements:

Firstly, All applicants must have a minimum of Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC or NECO, in a maximum of two sittings).
Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit pass or its equivalent in relevant areas;
Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) without Education obtained at Credit level with three years relevant Postgraduate experience;
Candidates who hold qualifications other than the above, which are acceptable to the Senate of the University.
Candidates with a Third Class degree in areas other than Education can be considered after three years of relevant Postgraduate experience. All candidates shall be subjected to a selection process.

Master’s Degree Programme

Candidates seeking Admission to Umar Musa Yar’ Adua University (UMYU) Master’s Degree program must meet the following minimum requirements.

Firstly, All applicants must have a minimum of Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC or NECO, result (in a maximum of two sittings).
Graduates of recognized Universities who have obtained the approved Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with at least Second-Class Honors or equivalent.

Graduates of recognized Universities who have obtained the approved Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with at least Second-Class Honors or equivalent.
Candidates with any Bachelor’s degree in the Third Class division with at least five years of relevant working experience.
Also, Candidates who possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Credit pass at a Postgraduate Diploma of a recognized Institution;
Candidates with qualifications other than those listed above are acceptable to the Senate of the University.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

For candidates seeking Umar Musa Yar’ Adua University (UMYU) PhD degree admission requirements. The following shall qualify for the Doctorate admission:

Firstly, Graduates of recognized Universities who have obtained a good Master’s Degree appropriate to the proposed areas of study;
Graduates of recognized Universities who have received a Master of Philosophy degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on five (5) point scale of the relevant field of study to proceed with a PhD in the appropriate field to the proposed area of study;
In addition to (i) – (ii)above, a candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with Second Class lower division;
