This is to inform the public about the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) Degree Admission Requirements for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. Details about the academic calendar are given below.

UAES Undergraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

The admission requirements into the undergraduate programmes of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, shall be as follows:

UAES Full-Time Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into different full-time programmes of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Imo State, Nigeria.

UAES JAMB Admission Requirements

This admission is open for candidates who sat for the UTME in the 2024/2025 session and scored a minimum of 140.

All admissions into the University shall be through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB);

For admission into 100 Level (via UTME), candidates must obtain five (5) credit level passes, including English and Mathematics at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sittings.

Including credit passes in English and Mathematics. Candidates must also attain acceptable points in UTME.

Candidates who did not choose UAES as their first choice of university but scored the required cut-off mark can also apply on the condition that they visit the JAMB website for a change of institution.

All candidates must have five (5) O’ level credits in relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings. Candidates waiting for O-level results can also apply but will not be considered for admission until their results are available.

Is it Called Remedial or Pre-Degree in UAES?

At the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), it is called a pre-degree program. The pre-degree program is a one-year program that prepares students to sit for JAMB and qualifying examination conducted annually. A successful candidate in both studies is automatically qualified for admission into the 100 level of UAES.

Pre-Degree to Undergraduate Admission Requirements

The minimum academic qualification is five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at only 2 sittings.

Candidates must pass JAMB and meet or surpass the school cut-off mark of 140.

Candidates are to ensure they meet the required minimum final Pre-Degree exam cut-off marks for admission to the programme of their choice.

Direct-Entry Admission Requirements

For admission by direct entry (200 Level), candidates must obtain five (5) credit level passes, including English and Mathematics at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sittings.

Including credit passes in English and Mathematics. Candidates must also attain acceptable points in UTME.

Also, Candidates shall obtain at least two (2) A’ level (or its equivalent) passes in relevant subjects.

Or possess ND with a minimum of Upper Credit level pass, or passes in relevant subjects in JUPEB, or have an excellent first degree in another field, as the case may be;

Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics at SSCE (or equivalent) shall be compulsory for admission into all courses.

Do EKSU Offer JUPEB or IJMB Programme?

The advanced level programme candidates can apply for at the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) is JUPEB.

After an approved examination administered by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), successful candidates are eligible for consideration for Direct Entry Admission into the undergraduate degree programmes of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) or any other University in Nigeria.

General Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes at UAES

An applicant for admission to a postgraduate programme shall:

Possess a bachelor’s degree from this University or any approved University.
A person who holds other qualification(s) recognized by the Senate of the UAES.
In addition to (i) and (ii) above, an applicant may be required to undergo a selection process in the form of written and oral examinations for admission.

Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate

Candidates who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps programme or are undergoing a Postgraduate programme need not apply. Such applicants will be automatically disqualified.
Candidates awaiting the results of their bachelor’s degree need not apply.
A holder of a Degree obtained from an Outreach/Satellite is not eligible to apply.
All academic transcripts must reach the Deputy Registrar/Administrative Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, on or before the start of the session. Admission is being sought.

Master’s Degree Programme

To qualify for admission to the above programme:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s honours degree from this University or any other approved University with at least a Second Class (Upper Division).
Candidates with a Master’s degree have a minimum CGPA of at least 3.50.
All candidates to the M.Phil. programmes must contact the respective department for the availability of supervisors before applying.
The candidate may be required to undergo a selection process determined by the respective department.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

A candidate who has obtained the degree of Master of Philosophy must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0.
A candidate who has obtained the degree of Masters of Science must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0.
Candidates must be clear with the respective Departments as to the availability of supervisors before applying.
All candidates may be required to undergo a selection process determined by the department.

For M. Phil and Ph.D. programmes only, admission shall be processed at the beginning of each semester. ALL CANDIDATES FOR M. Phil./Ph.D.

ADMISSIONS ARE TO PROVIDE TRANSCRIPTS OF THEIR MASTER’S DEGREES OR FORMAL EVIDENCE OF PERFORMANCE AT THE MASTER’S LEVEL.
