The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) was set up by the federal government of Nigeria in the year 1977. Kano State was created on the 27th of may 1967 and it can be found in the northwestern part of the country. It has twenty-four local government area and its capital is Kano. There are currently eight universities in Kano State and they are two states, two federal and four private universities.

Kano State shares borders with Jigawa State to the north-east, Katsina state to the north-west and Kaduna state to the south. The state is known to be the second-largest industrial centre in Nigeria and Hausa is the predominant tribe in the state.

Admission Requirements

The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is not compulsory for Technical Colleges. Applicants need five credits in WAEC (West Africa Examination Council) or in NECO (National Examination Council).
