Imo State was created on the 3rd of February 1976 by the formal administration of General Murtala Mohammed. Its capital is Owerri, it has 27 local government areas and it can be found in the southeastern region of Nigeria. The predominant tribe in this state is Igbo.

Admission Requirements
The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is not compulsory for Technical Colleges. Applicants need five credits in WAEC (West Africa Examination Council) or in NECO (National Examination Council).
