The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) was set up by the federal government of Nigeria in the year 1977. NBTE is the body that supervises, accredit and regulate the affairs of all technical institutions. All board have their vision and NBTE vision is to be a world-class regulatory body for the promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Nigeria. For the records so far, this board have accredited over 250 technical institutions in the country.

What You Need to Know About Akwa Ibom State

Akwa Ibom State was created on the 23rd of September 1987 from the formal Cross Rivers State by the formal administration of Ibrahim Babangida. Akwa Ibom State is located in the coastal southern part of Nigeria, its capital is Uyo and there are 31 local government areas in the state. The Ibibios occupies most part of the state.

Akwa Ibom State has five universities and there include one state, one federal and three private universities. On the east, the state is bounded by Cross Rivers state, on the west and north by Abia state, Rivers State on the east and Ebonyi state on the north. Akwa Ibom State is known to be among the highest oil and gas producing states in the country.

Admission Requirements

The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is not compulsory for Technical Colleges. Applicants need five credits in WAEC (West Africa Examination Council) or in NECO (National Examination Council).
