The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) was set up by the federal government of Nigeria in the year 1977. NBTE is the body that supervises, accredit and regulate the affairs of all technical institutions. Cross River State was created from the formal Eastern Region on the 27th of May 1967 by General Yakubu Gowon.
