Cross River State was created from the formal Eastern Region on the 27th of May 1967 by General Yakubu Gowon. Admission Requirements
The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is not compulsory for Specialised Institutions. Students need at least five credits in (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council). The normal age requirement for most of these schools is sixteen.
