About the Roger Casemen Fellowship In Human Rights 2021/2022

The aim of this fellowship program is to ensure the provision of an opportunity to pursue advanced education and professional development in Ireland to interested candidates to contribute to the future development of Nigeria. The fellowship program covers the return airfares, full tuitions, stipends to cover accommodation and subsistence costs, health insurance and other allowance, medical examination, and Visa.

Eligibility Requirements

To be able to apply for the fellowship program, all candidate must have satisfied the necessary eligibility requirements that would qualify and make them eligible for the program. It will be needed of candidates to have achieved necessary educational standard to be accepted onto a masters course in a higher education institution. Below are the Eligibility Requirements for the programme

  • Applicants must be a citizen of Nigeria and reside in Nigeria
  • Applicants must have a achieved the necessary academic standard to be accepted into a masters level course of study in human rights.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong communication to the development of Nigeria
  • Applicants must be able to take up the fellowship in the academic year for which of was offered
  • Applicants must meet any relevant procedural requirements of the government of Nigeria
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate skills in English by achieving an appropriate score on a recognized test.

An applicant will not be considered further in either of the fellowship circumstances;

  • When applicants hold a masters qualification
  • When they have applied more than twice without been awarded
  • When they are currently working or will work at the embassies or headquarters

Application Process

  2. Detailed application
  3. Interview

If you are shortlisted after the interview stage you will be required to take another English language test which is normally the IELTS exams or unless they are already in possession of an IELTS certificate that is dated 2019 or later and shows that the applicant has achieved the necessary score to apply  and early preparation for the IELTS exam is strongly advised. The deadline for the receiving of stage 1 application is on the 13th of September 2020.
