About the Open University Business and Law Schools Ph.D. Studentships 2021

The scholarship is themed ‘Responding to COVID-19 and the Climate Emergency’ and it is slated to kick off in February 2021. The project is very broad and it focuses on the pandemic and what is to come after it. Topics like rethinking relations between organizations and the natural/material environment, ethnicity, gender, and a lot more shall be discussed.

Business is not all as law and order is another important agenda to be addressed as new operational organizational challenges are arising due to the pandemic, well-being of staff, hazards, balancing the interests of the public, finances, and politics. The outbreak, resulting in the lockdown also has its effect on our human rights, especially the women, and this also has to be addressed.

The worldwide lockdown has also affected the economy reducing its output. This has brought into light the need to improve the environment in many countries showing want a greener world would look like. The majority of this project will focus on climate awareness starting from the response of consumers through green advertising to renewable energy and demonstrating practices individuals must emulate to promote a greener economy.  The projects will be under serious supervision from professionals from both the business and the law school.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the Open University Business and Law Schools Ph.D. Studentships 2021 you must meet up to all criteria stated below.

  • All interested applicants must have at least a second class upper division degree or an equivalent degree.
  • A specialist Masters’s degree in any subject relevant to the course you want to study.
  • Proof of English proficiency, the minimum requirement is a score of 6.5 in IELTS with at least 6.0 in any four categories.

Your proof of proficiency must be certified by a provided that is approved by the United Kingdom visa and immigration. Your certificate and grade should be attached to your application.

Requirements

  • A proposal of at least 1,000 words a maximum of 2,000. The proposal should state your knowledge in literature and the methods you’d employ to approach your project.
