NOUN Resumption Date for Completion of 2019/2020 Academic Session

Following the easing of restrictions on movement and academic activities by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has deemed it fit to resume academic activities, and as such the date has been announced by the management of the institution.

The date announced by the management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for the resumption of academic activities, 2019/2020 academic session is Monday, October 12, 2020. The resumption date was announced by the management of the Institution following the recent decision of the Federal Government on re-opening of all academic activities.

The university suspended academic activities following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country on March 20, 2020. The director of media and publicity of NOUN, Mr. Ibrahim Sheme said in a press release that the management of the university has directed all staff to resume duty on Monday, 12th 2020.

The University Registrar, Mr. Felix I. Edoka, had advised the members of staff to abide strictly by all the known COVID 19 safety protocols during the course of their work, clearly stating that there will be no tolerance for any breach made. This was also made known to the public by the director of media and publicity, NOUN.

He also stated that the Registrar has given information to all deans, directors, and heads of units to make sure that students, as well as staff, strictly comply with both the resumption and the safety measures.

It is worthy of mention that during the course of the six-month stay at home, NOUN students were able to continue with their studies from home, the university being an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution which does not require classroom attendance.
