NDA Postgraduate Postgraduates Requirements

Full Time

the requirements for each of the programmes are as follow:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree: a candidate for Ph.D. degree is expected to meet the minimum a minimum of second class honors (Lower Division) at Bachelor’s Degree and an academic master’s degree in the field of study proposed from a university that is recognized. Plus, the candidates are expected to possess an average score of nothing less than 60% or a CGPA of 3.50 on a scale of 5 at the Masters level
  • Masters (MA, Meng, and MSc) Degree: any candidate looking forward to admission into the Master’s Degree are expected to possess and an academic Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study from an institution that is recognized. Plus, the candidate is expected to have scored an average of nothing less than 60% or a CGPA of 3.50 on a scale of 5 at their Master’s level.

Part-Time

The requirements for various programmes are stated below:

  • Masters Degree: all candidates who would be sitting for the part-time programmes are expected to possess a Bachelor’s degree, holding a minimum of second-class honors (Lower Division). All candidates with third-class degrees or higher national Diplomas are expected to also possess a postgraduate diploma at credit level in any related discipline from any university that has been recognized to be eligible for the admission.
  • PGD Programmes: all the candidates who would be applying for the postgraduate Diploma programmes are required to possess a minimum of third-class Bachelors’s degree, from the Nigerian Defense academy or any other recognized university or a higher national diploma of at least lower credit.

Duration of the NDA Postgraduate Programmes

Full-time

Each of the students that have been admitted for Ph.D. or Master’s Degree is expected to pursue a full-time course of study and research in the academy. But based on the degree in view, the following conditions can also be applied.

  • A student for the Masters who would be going for a master’s degree would pursue the programmes for a period of two years which is 4 semesters.
  • Candidates for who is for the Ph.D. degree would be expected to pursue the degree for a period of 3 years (6 semesters). At the end of the period of study for any given programme, students that have not completed his/her programme would be immediately withdrawn from the academy.

Part-Time

  • Masters students would undertake the programmes for 18months (2 Semesters of course work and 1 semester for the project) Except for the MBA programme that would be running for 2 years straight.
  • Students for postgraduate diplomas shall pursue the programme for one year (2 semesters) except for engineering courses that would be taking place for a period of 2 years (4 semesters).
  • Professional Master’s degree and postgraduate diploma programmes would be delivered on Fridays and Saturdays.

Process for the Application

1. Create an account
  • First, you need to apply for the Nigerian Defense academy postgraduate school in other to create an account.
  • Then click this link to create an account. If you already have an account, click on the login portal. With your account, you would be able to purchase the form and also fill up the application over several sessions. You will access your secure application in subsequent sessions by signing in under “login” or “Applications Status”. If you have already begun the application previously, you are free to always log in and continue from where you left off. The system would prompt you on how to complete the application, click on Submit.

2. Purchase the Form

  • Applicants can make payment for the application online via the portal or via REMITA Retrieval Reference RRR at any Nigerian Bank of your choice. Make sure the previous steps are fully completed “Create an Account” to proceed
  • To make the payment online, log in to the application portal and select “Pay Online”
  • To make the payment at any bank of your choice, log in to the application portal, and select “pay at Branch”
  • Follow the application process as it would guide you through the remaining straightforward process.

3. Upload Documents

  • Uploading the required documents online is very necessary. It is therefore required that you should come along with the originals of this uploaded documents for sighting during your interview. Your application information is maintained on a secure server and would remain confidential prior to the submission of the application. Make use of the support link to get help or any form of assistance during the completion and the submission of the process.
  • You are to note that your application would not be complete until all the copies of your credentials, Acknowledgement form, Application for transcripts form and the medical report has been fully uploaded alongside your application.
4. Review
  • Your application would get reviewed online by the admission officials immediately you submit it to the Nigerian Defense Academy online. All the required procedures for the application must be completed on or before the set deadline for the application.

5. Application Status

  • Go through your application status by logging into the system with the provided login details that were assigned to you for the application. However, you would constantly receive emails with messages that are related to your application status.
