Direct-Entry Requirements

Below are the general JAMB requirements for direct entry and subject combination for mathematics.

  •  Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any other science subject.
  • NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) of Physics, Chemistry or Economics.

However, there are some universities with specific direct-entry subject combinations and requirements for Mathematics.

  • GSU, OAU, AAU, BSU and EKSU accept Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry. EKSU does not accept NCE for Direct Entry.
  • RSU accepts HND (Lower Credit) from recognized institutions. OND/ND (Upper Credit) from a recognized institution. At least two (2) Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
  • BENIN accepts DME merit in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • LAGOS accepts Very good passes in the following three JUPEB/’A’-level subjects: Physics, Mathematics and any one(1) of Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Geography and requires an ‘O’ level credit pass in Further Mathematics. Does not accept NCE.
