About the Igbinedion University Postgraduate Admission Form for 2020/2021 Academic Session

Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) is now inviting applications from all interested candidates looking forward to applying for admission into the Postgraduate Programmes for the academic session of 2020/2021.

Igbinedion University postgraduate registration Closing date earlier Stipulated for January 31st, 2021 has been postponed until March 1st, 2021.

Igbinedion University Postgraduate General Admission Requirements

  • Interested candidate for Postgraduate Studies in Igbinedion University are expected to have obtained at a minimum of five (5) credits in WASC, NECO, GCE (ordinary level or their equivalents) NOTE: A CREDIT PASS IN MATHS AND ENGLISH IS REQUIRED.
  • Four credits at Ordinary level, plus OND (not pass), NCE, IJMB or Advance level passes or any other qualification that is equivalent.
  • Must be a holder of a Pass (Degree/Diploma) is not qualified for admission into the postgraduate Programmes of the University. He/She must be in possession of PGD to be considered for admission into the Master’s Programmes.
  • A candidate applying for the Ph.D. in any Programmes of Igbinedion University is expected to have acquired a minimum weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
  • Only students that are in possession of the NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate can be allowed to clear into the different courses.

In addition to the above-stated applicants for:

– MSc Nursing:
  • Candidates must have been Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Candidates Must be in possession of a valid Midwifery Council of Nigeria license -PGD
– Nursing (PGDN):
  • Candidates Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM)
  • Candidates Must have a first Bachelor’s degree in related health subjects, e.g. Psychology, Nutrition, etc.
– Computer Science:
  • Applicants with a degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, BSc. (Ed) in Computer may be considered
– Physiology:
  • Applicants with a related B.Sc. degree, where Physiology has been part of courses taught could be considered.

MBA from an institution can apply for the Mphil/Ph.D in management.

Transcripts:

Candidates are expected to request for their transcripts from the former institution. Applications of candidates whose transcripts are forwarded to the school would not be processed.

Referees Reports:

Candidates Should print out the referee forms provided on the application page, and fill out the return directly to the secretary, School of postgraduate studies. No applicants would be processed until the report of the referee has been made available.

How to Apply

The steps for the 2020/2021 application for Postgraduate admission for first-time Applicants is a follow:

Interested candidates are expected to possess a valid e-mail account before the process for the application.

  1. First, go to www.iuokada.edu.ng Click on Online Applications
  2. Choose Postgraduate Programmes 2020/2021
  3. Download and Read the Instructions and Guidelines then proceed
  4. Click on Register for application found at the top left of the displayed page in other to proceed.
  5. Enter your First name; Middle name; and Surname along with your Email Address and Phone Number.

Immediately after, your ID and Password would be sent to your email. then click on the link within your email to proceed

  1. Go back to the iuokada.waeup.org click on ‘Login’ (top right of the front page).
  2. Enter your username and the password to log in.
  3. To commence the application process, click on ‘Application record’ and enter all required information and then upload your passport photograph.
  4. Provide all required information and then upload your passport photograph.
  5. Upload a clear and recently taken 1” x 1” COLOURED passport photograph

NOTE: that the photograph would be the only valid ID for all the admitted candidates throughout their stay in the Igbinedion University, Okada.

  1. In other to pay for the Application, Students are expected to click on “Add online payment ticket” at the bottom of the page, then click on “Pay with…” Interswitch or Etransact locates at the top left corner of the page, then follow the instruction in other to pay for the application fee of N 15,0000.00;(excluding charges) using a valid ATM-Enabled Card from any Commercial Bank in Nigeria.
  2. Request that your transcript is sent to Igbinedion University.

The Deadline for application into the PGD and Masters programmes has been stipulated for 16th January 2021. No deadline for PhD Programmes Application has been stipulated.
