IAUE Best Graduating Student Receives One Million Naira Cash Award
The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has awarded one of its graduating students, Miss Faith Chidinma Igbonekwu of the Department of English and Communication Art, Faculty of Humanities, with the sum of one million naira cash award. This award was given to her as the best graduating student.
During the 38th convocation ceremony of the university which was held on Friday, December 18, 2020, the university presented her the one million naira cash award in addition to several other cash awards and prizes. The convocation ceremony was held at the university auditorium.
Gratitude was expressed by the award recipient, Miss Igbonekwu to the Vice-Chancellor of IAUE, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele for good leadership, discipline, peace, enabling environment, and also for transforming and raising the university into a pinnacle of academic and structural excellence.
Thanks were also showered on the Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Professor Kingdom Orji, and Lecturers in the Department of English and Communication Art by Miss Igbonekwu. She thanked them for the zeal and commitment with which they taught.
She buttressed that her academic excellence is a result of their tutelage, advice, inspiring words, relentless and untiring support of the staff of the university. She indicated that effective teaching and learning took place within the space of four academic sessions.
A total of 3,747 students graduated from the institution during the 38th convocation ceremony which was held over the weekend. Out of the students who graduated, there were 205 Ph.D. holders, 1,087 Master’s students, 521 Postgraduate Diploma students, and 1,934 Bachelor Degree graduands.
