– IP Senior Presales

  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Responsibilities
  • The position holder is to be responsible for Huawei IP / Datacom products network design, the Pre-sales in the field of IP/ Datacom Network Product in Nigeria.
  • IP network architecture design pre-sale solution discussion with Clients
  • IP network evaluation and consultant service for clients
  • Validating and quantifying clients’ pain points/issues and business drivers, confirming Huawei’s technical viability for the opportunity, understanding the alternative proposals of customers.
  • Designing and deploying all types of IP / Datacom Network Elements. such as IP Core / IGW / IP RAN / DCN / Firewall etc.
  • Training, mentoring, and knowledge of product and skills transfer to other technical support engineers.
  • Training conduction for clients, subcontractors, or service partners
  • Summarizing network sorted out issues and output case or product solutions on Huawei knowledge base.
  • Design communications diagrams and solutions that are based on clients requirements
Qualification, Skills, and Experience
  • Candidates applying for this position are required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Technology / Management, Electronics Science, Tele-communication, or related discipline.
  • Possession of ten years of technical experience in an enterprise environment.
  • At least 8 years experience that is relevant in Data Communication / IP field and Networking
  • Possess IP Core / IP RAN / Data Center / Security network technical director experience and is also expected to be familiar with telecom provider network architecture.
  • Possess excellent understanding of Datacom, Solid experience of IP, MPLS, BGP / MP-BGP, traffic engineering, SDN, and IP network design.

– Wireless Network Planning Optimization Engineer

  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Responsibilities
  • This job requires the holder to oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of LTE networks. Management of the design phase includes technology assessment, overseeing pre-deployment equipment analysis, radio network planning, access planning, and interference analysis, demand planning, test and measurement of the equipment, and interfacing with the market development team.
  • The main tasks in the optimization stage are to supervise network performance, KPI and network statistics analysis, and parameter optimization. It will be typical of the individual to oversee and guide the work of RF and optimization Engineers, who are in charge of managing the day to day operations of the projects and interface with the Technical Director and Project Manager. Technical questions as well as day-to-day operational questions will be answered by the Optimization Engineer (eLTE).
Qualification and Experience
  • There is a preference for HCIP-LTE certification
  • In Wireless, Radio Transmission, Antenna, Communications, and Electronics, or related fields, Bachelor Degree or above is required
  • Excellent knowledge of mobile communications and principles of LTE products, signaling flow and protocols, electromagnetic theory, radio transmission, antenna system, etc.
  • Possession of the ability to implement and supervise optimization project. Preference is given to individuals with relative project experience.
  • There is a preference for over 3 years of experience in radio network planning and optimization
  • The candidate who is fluent in English and has the potential to become a team lead for NPO
  • Must possess good negotiation skills and customer-oriented skills
  • Must have good communication and verbal skills
Skills
  • Performance of RF network design, planning and optimization activities as required
  • Must be fully proficient in set-up, utilization, and data post-processing of drive-test hardware and software products.
  • Must comprehensively understand RF channel environment ( fast fading, slow fading, time dispersion, scattering, diffraction, wavelength/frequency dependence, etc) and proper prediction model selection (Okomura, Hata, COST231, etc.) as well as their key parameters calibration for various frequencies.
  • Have excellent knowledge of system topology and air parameters of LTE
  • Must understand system topology and air interface parameters of LTE
  • Must know and properly understand Huawei equipment
  • Understand the features of systems and parameters for optimal network performance.
  • Analyze network performance reports and a good understanding of KPIS.
  • Carry out optimization techniques (proper antenna selection for optimal horizontal/vertical performance, mechanical/electrical tilting, appropriate transmit power setting, antenna clearance, neighbor list analysis, etc.) for the optimal site/cluster performance.
  • Proper understanding of antenna theory (aperture, gain, beamwidth, dipole vs. isotropic), antenna performance (return loss, impedance matching, etc), and engineering tools ((spectrum analyzer, site master, etc.)
  • Performance of link budget, design criteria, and traffic analysis
  • Help in defining processes and procedures for Rf engineering tasks
