  • The income of applicants or an applicant’s family must be less than N500,000 per annum.
  • Must not have been found guilty of examination malpractice by any school authority
  • A student must not have been convicted of a felony or any fraud or dishonesty offence.
  • The provision of two guarantors who meet the following criteria;
  1. A lawyer with at least 10 years of post-call experience
  2. A Justice of Peace
  3. A civil servant of at least level 12.
  4. A judicial officer

Documents Required for the AKSU Student Loan Application Process

  • A copy of the student’s admission letter
  • A minimum of two guarantor letters addressed to the chairperson of the committee
  • Two passport photographs from each of the guarantors, their employers, as well as their evidence of employment
  • Guarantors business registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or any other appropriate authority in cases where the guarantor is self-employed.
  • The banking information of the student’s guarantors.

Loan Application Process for AKSU Students

The act states that the student shall be informed of his or her loan application status by the Committee within 14 days of the receipt of any application.
