Haskayne School of Business Entrance Scholarships 2024/2025

This program represents an exceptional opportunity to enhance your leadership capacity and broaden and deepen your business skills. We recognize the value of a diverse, experienced cohort and holistically evaluate each candidate.

Our assessment considers how the individual will benefit from the program and how they will contribute to the overall cohort experience.

Program Details

Applicants for the Haskayne accelerated MBA are evaluated based on thoughtful consideration of how the program will help them achieve their professional goals and how their participation will benefit the rest of the cohort.

The quality of the MBA experience is critically dependent on the diversity and character of the cohort. Therefore, the admissions committee considers various factors in its admission decisions and views each applicant from a holistic perspective.

Eligibility

  • A GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or higher in the last two years of a four-year undergraduate business degree program AND
  • The business degree must be issued from a recognized/accredited Canadian or U.S. post-secondary institution and must be awarded within ten years of the intake date you are applying to AND
  • At least two years of professional work experience after graduation; AND
  • A score of 550 or higher in the GMAT exam. (Or an acceptable equivalent score on the GRE.)

How to Apply

Applying to the Haskayne MBA program involves six steps. To assist you with your planning, please note that the most time-consuming application steps are typical: GMAT preparation, receipt of official transcripts (particularly from international institutions), and references.

Step 1: Request an eID and register for a UCID

Follow the instructions as per the link below to secure an eID and UCID:

Account Registration

If you previously studied at the University of Calgary, you do not need to create a new UCID; the application system will allow you to retrieve your UCID if you have forgotten it.

If you have a staff UCID, you must register for a student UCID to be eligible for student offers and discounts.

Step 2: Submit online application

Create or resume your application on the “Graduate Studies” site – Click here.

  • Complete an online application form
  • Upload current résumé and statement/essay answers
  • Provide reference contact emails; our system will contact your references directly.

Step 3: Pay the application fee

A non-refundable application fee is required to process your application.
The application fee can be paid via credit card.

The application fee is $125 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents and $145 for international applicants.

Step 4: Request official transcripts

Official transcripts are required from all post-secondary institutions attended. Transcripts should be sent directly from the registrar of that institution to the Haskayne School of Business. Official transcripts will be sealed in an envelope with the institution’s official seal.

If the transcripts are in a language other than English, official translated copies are also required.

Step 5: Send other supporting documents

Please provide copies of the following and any other documentation requested by the admissions committee:

  • GMAT official score report (if required)
  • TOEFL / IELTS official score report (if required)

Step 6: Attend an interview

Once your application is complete, the admissions committee will assess whether you meet our minimum admission requirements. If the committee decides to proceed with your application, you may be invited to an interview.
