The Harvard University Academy Scholars Program 2020 is aimed at discovering and supporting scholars at the opening of their professions whose work syndicates disciplinary excellence in the social sciences or law. And with a command of language and culture or history of regions and countries aside from the United States or Canada. The scholarship may elucidate domestic, transnational or comparative issues, present or past. The academy scholars are made up of individuals with resourcefulness, curiosity, initiative, and originality, whose work in cultures or regions beyond the US or Canada has displayed promise as a foundation for exceptional careers in major universities or international institutions.
About the Harvard University Academy Scholars Program 2020
Two years of appointment is given to academy scholars, in-residence, postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard Academy for International and Area studies, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. They would be offered substantial Financial and research assistance to take on sustained projects of research and/or gain access to accessory training in their selected fields and areas. The senior scholars, a well-distinguished group of senior Harvard University faculty members would stand in as mentors for the academy Scholars to aid them in achieving their intellectual potential.

Type: PhD, Postdoctoral
Number of Awards: 4 to 6
Duration of the Program: the program would be lasting for 2 years
Value of the program: The Postdoctoral Academy scholars would be offered an annual stipend of about $70,000. If chosen before earning a PhD, the scholars would receive an annual stipend of $31,000 until they are finally awarded their PhD. This stipend is supplemented by funding for conference and research travel, research assistants, and health insurance coverage. Some teaching would be permitted, but it is not required.
Eligibility of the Program
- Applicants are to be proficient in the English Language
- Applicants must have finished their Masters and Bachelor’s degree level
- Applicants are expected to be international students
All application material is to be submitted before the deadline of October 1st. late applications are not accepted.
The completed application is to contain the following:
- A cover letter that clearly states the applicant’s academic field, country or region of specialization, and atopic proposed for research
- Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume; including a list of publications
- A research proposal that does not exceed 2500 word; with an included intellectual objective and planned methodological and disciplinary work
- A copy of your PhD program Transcript
- Three letters of recommendation that would be uploaded via the online application
the letter should be addressed to the “Selection Committee”. The letters of recommendation are to be uploaded before the deadline.
