About the Institution

The Grundtvig Polytechnic is a residential tertiary institution which is owned by the Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN). This Movement is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is non-profit based and registered by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Grundtvig Polytechnic is an institution that is inspired by both the traditional education and the Education for Life philosophy of Bishop N.F.S. Grundtvig of Denmark whom the school is named.

However, bringing into existence The Grundtvig Polytechnic, was an idea conceived by the founder of the Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN) – Dr. Kachi E. Ozumba who died at the age of 65 in the year 2011. The Polytechnic has since conception grown into being part of an international network of Grundtvig inspired schools all across the globe.

Grundtvig Polytechnic Courses and their Respective O’ level Requirements

Below are the courses available for study at the Grundtvig Polytechnic and the subject requirements:

– School of Engineering

Candidates are required to possess five O’ level Credit passes in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry, and anyone from the following subjects: Biology, Agricultural Science, Health Science, Economics or Commerce, Additional Mathematics, Statistics

– School of Applied Sciences

Candidates are required to possess five O’ level Credit passes in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry, and anyone from the following subjects: Biology, Agricultural Science, Health Science, Economics or Commerce, Additional Mathematics, Statistics

– School of Management Sciences

Candidates are required to possess five O’ level Credit passes in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language, and any three from Economics or Commerce, Business Method, Principles of Account, Government, Additional Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Literature in English

With the invitation for applications from interested and suitably qualified indigent candidates been announced, application for the Grundtvig Polytechnic Scholarship for the 2020/2021 Academic Session is currently ongoing as candidates are encouraged to apply for the scholarship as early as possible.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to participate in the Grundtvig Polytechnic Scholarship for the 2020/2021 Academic Session, there are certain eligibility criteria required of the candidates. These eligibility criteria and requirements are as follows:

  • Candidates must have five (5) O’ level credits in relevant subjects which must include Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings
  • Candidates must have taken the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored at least 120
  • Candidates must have selected Grundtvig Polytechnic as one of their choices of the institution.

It should be noted that candidates who did not choose Grundtvig Polytechnic but wish to change to Grundtvig Polytechnic must do a “Change of Institution” on the JAMB website at via this link OR contact the Polytechnic for assistance.

Application Process

The Grundtvig Polytechnic Scholarship 2020/2021 Academic Session Selection Test will hold as follows:

  • Date: Friday, 20th of November, 2020
  • Venue: Grundtvig Polytechnic Multimedia Lecture Hall
  • Time: 11.00am prompt
