About the 2021 Google Conference and Travel Scholarship
This scholarship helps break that barrier between people in technology, business, computer science, computer engineering, and related fields, by providing a scholarship to fund travels and applications to conferences that pertain to these areas concerned.
The scholarship is targeted at certain conferences as Google prefers to support conferences in research areas where they have a strong interest – majorly tech, computer science, computer engineering, and related fields.
The scholarship caters to Applicants within specific regions, which includes Africa, North America, Europe, India, Japan & South Korea. Only residents from these selected regions will be considered for the award.

Benefits of the Programme
Conference registration is free for all of these regions. Specific regional benefits include
– North America
Fee coverage for one registration for the virtual conference. You’ll find the virtual conferences listed in a tab under the North America application portal.
– Europe
As much as 1,000 EUR to cover all travel and accommodation expenses.
– India
A scholarship award range of $1,000 – $3,000. This is meant to fund all charges on travel, accommodation, related activities
– Africa
A scholarship award range of $1,000 – $3,000. This is meant to fund all charges on travel, accommodation, related activities. Note that the scholarship amount awarded also depends on the cost of the international conference.
– Japan & South Korea
As much as $3,000 to cover air tickets and accommodation expenses. Note that the scholarship amount awarded also depends on the cost of the international conference.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply here’s what is required for each of these regions.
– North America
- A strong academic or professional background with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Must be able to attend the major days of the conference
– Europe
- For residents in Europe, scholarships are available for women in technology. For a successful application, the following criteria must be met

– India
- For residents in India, scholarships are available for students who are enrolled in a recognized university in India and are in need of conference travel funds.
– Africa
- For residents in Africa, scholarships are available for students who are enrolled in a recognized university in Africa and are in need of conference travel funds.
- For a successful application, the student must be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a discipline related to the conference.
– Japan & South Korea
- For residents in any of these countries, scholarships are available for students who are enrolled in a recognized university in Japan or South Korea and are in need of conference travel funds.
- For a successful application, the student must have a paper accepted at a top-tier computer science conference.
