About the Future for Nature (FFN) Awards 2021

The Future for Nature (FFN) focuses on rewarding and funding individuals for their excellent effort in the protection of species of wild animal and plants, stimulating award winners to sustain their profile, extending their professional network and strengthening their funding basis.

Awards to Be Given

  • The Future for Nature (FFN) awards makes the provision of international recognition, financial aid and reinforced linkages to an international conservation network for the winners.
  • Also in addition to the Future for Nature (FFN) award, an amount of £50,000 is given and all recipients will get a small Future for Nature sculpture.
  • The winners of the Future For Nature (FFN) Awards 2021 will be given an opportunity to present their work at the future for Nature awards event at Royal Burgers’ 200 in Arnhem, The event will take place in May 2021. Also, all travel and accommodation expenses will be taken care of by the Future for Nature (FFN) foundation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All applicants must be born on or after May 31, 1985, and before May 31, 2002.
  • All applicants must have achieved substantial and long-term benefits to the conservation status of one or more animal or plant species.
  • Application Applicants must have displayed devotion, determination and zeal for the conservation work.
  • Applicants must display leadership, entrepreneurship and a clear view on conservation work.
  • Applicants must have been creative and innovative in their work.
  • Applicants must display honour to the conservation work performed.
  • Applicants must have the determination to continue their conservation work, as the award focuses on stimulating the winner’s future work.
  • Applicants must be able to give an explanation of their conservation work in a proficient knowledge of the English Language.
  • The award must be used for conservation initiative of the winner’s own choice and personally implemented.
  • The award must be used for the conservation of animal or plant species and the conservation initiative can involve a component of fundamental research but it should not be the major focus.

Application Process 

Applicants for the Future for Nature (FFN) awards 2021 are advised to visit the official website to get detailed information on how to apply and complete the application process. Six to ten nominees will be selected and asked to provide additional information which will be used to select the final three award winners.

Application Deadline

All applicants are expected to complete their various application processes on or before Sep 15, 2020. Any applications submitted after the stipulated date for the deadline will not be considered.
