Admission Requirements

  1. To be eligible for admission, all postgraduate diploma programme candidates are expected to be first degree holders coming from a relevant discipline from any university that is recognized. Plus, applicants are expected to satisfy the basic UTME requirements for the bachelor’s degree. All the holders of HND with upper credit and above are also eligible to apply. All first-degree holders in animal science are eligible to apply for the postgraduate diploma programme available in animal science.
  2. All candidates who are for the Master’s programmes are expected to have graduated from the federal university of Agriculture, Abeokuta, or any other recognized university by the senate and would have acquired a minimum of second class (upper division) in any relevant field. However, every single candidate who is with second class lower degree in any field that is relevant may stand a chance to get considered. Candidates who are for the Masters of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) programme are expected to be in possession of HND plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science or B.Sc. Physical Sciences/Engineering and Allied Disciplines. Prior computing or IT exposure is beneficial but not important. Candidates who came for admission to Masters and Ph.D. programmes in Communication Studies are to possess University degrees in Arts, Science, Social Science, Applied Science and Education or other disciplines related.
  3. For you to be eligible for the admission to the MBA (AgriBusiness) and Professional Master in Communication Studies degree programmes, all candidates are expected to be holders of a Bachelor’s degree from a university that is recognized or HND (Upper Credit minimum) with a Postgraduate Diploma in any of the disciplines.
  4. Candidates who are in possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Communication studies alongside a minimum cumulative average of 55% may stand a chance to get considered for a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies. plus, possession of applicable professional qualifications and/or experience will serve as an added advantage. A credit pass in O’ Level Mathematics is not compulsory for the admission into Professional Master in Communication Studies programme that has been made strictly part-time (Friday and Saturday) programme. The programme would be taking place in a minimum of four semesters.
  5. Masters of Environment Management (MEM) happens to be a three-semester professional programme that was created for captains of industries who happens to be degree holders or HND holders with distinction/credit pass plus PGD in any relevant field, and have also meet up with all basic UTME requirements while Masters of Environment Management and Protection (MEMP) is an academic Master’s Degree that takes place for at least four semesters.
  6. The requirement for M. Agric applicants in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management is B. Agric (Agric Economics) with Second Class Upper. Other disciplines will get admitted to M.Sc. (Professional) with the prospect of conversion to MAgric on acquiring at least an average score of 60% after the end of the first year.
  7. Masters of Veterinary Science (M .V.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) courses are open to (i) M.V.Sc. – Master of Veterinary Science is available to Graduates of Veterinary Medicine of FUNAAB and other recognized universities by Senate. other qualifications that have been adjudged to be comparable to a DVM by the Senate. Candidates are expected to meet up with any other requirements as stated by the postgraduate school of FUNAAB. (ii) M.Sc.: – The Master of Science degree is available to Graduates of Biological Sciences of FUNAAB and other senate recognized institutions. Fellows who are of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent also stands a chance to be considered. Candidates are expected to meet up with other requirements as stated by the Postgraduate School of FUNAAB.
  8. For the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programme, a student is expected to have acquired a Master’s degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine of FUNAAB or any senate recognized University and other qualification pronounced to be relevant to a Master’s degree by the Senate.
  9. The duration of study for the Master’s degree programme would be for a minimum of 4 semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters for all candidates who would be going full time while part-time studies would be taking place for a maximum of 6 semesters and a maximum of 10 semesters. Part-time students are expected to finish all course works within the first four semesters of their registration.
  10. For you to be eligible for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme, candidates are expected to have acquired a Master’s degree from FUNAAB or its comparable from any other University recognized by Senate. Holders of one-year Master’s must undergo a conversion examination once the first session concludes before proceeding to a Ph.D. programme.
  11. Candidates who are for academic Masters and Ph.D. programmes would be asked to present a research proposal along with their application forms, and it might be required of them to communicate (in oral or written form) with their respective Departments before admission.
