Federal Polytechnic Bauchi in short “FPTB” to Commence 9 New Degree Programmes in Engineering and Sciences and you can get all the details from this post.
On Saturday, during the occasion of the 2020 matriculation ceremony, the management of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi (FPTB) disclosed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to the commencement of nine-degree programmes in Engineering and other Science courses.
About the FPTB New Degree Programmes
The nine degree courses according to the Rector of the polytechnic Sanusi Waziri Gumau would be affiliated to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi. The courses include Civil Engineering, Agric and Bio-Resources Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
The other courses according to him are degrees in Building Technology, Architecture, Estate management and valuation, Survey and Geo-informatics and Quantity surveying.
The polytechnic also runs Post Graduate Diplomas (PGDs) in engineering programmes with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, even as it is created for four additional departments as stated by the rector.
The rector stated that “We have recently created four additional departments and the appointments of their heads. The departments are; computer engineering, mechanical engineering, urban and regional planning and crime management. These departments will run ND programs under them as soon as we receive communication with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)”.
Newly admitted students are urged by the registrar of the school Rakiya Maleka that they should abode by the rules of the institution and any act that could lead to expulsion from the polytechnic should be avoided by them.
It was explained by her that 9, 910 applications were received for the 2019/2020 academic session in the polytechnic of which 9, 654 were admitted.
