Federal Polytechnic Ukana 2019/2020 Resumption Date for Academic Activities

Academic activities will resume in the institution on Monday 2nd November 2020 as announced by the school management. This information was contained in a statement the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr. Manasseh Umoette signed and made available to newsmen.

The statement made it clear that academic activities will resume on the said date and it is requested of all students to resume lectures on that date. The statement also stressed that students are expected to visit their various departmental notice boards to check for the revised academic calendar.

Far-reaching decisions had also been taken by the management of the institution in anticipation of the resumption to safeguard and protect staff, students, and also visitors of the polytechnic against COVID 19 infection.

A “no mask, no entry” policy has been declared by the school management which indicates that the use of face masks in the Polytechnic is compulsory. Compliance with the COVID 19 directives by staff, students, and visitors is to be enforced by the COVID 19 Protocol Monitoring and Enforcement Committee.

It was also noted in the statement that Pharmacological and non-pharmacological facilities have been procured by the Polytechnic to enable them to combat the COVID 19 infection.

Visitors who do not have any official business to transact in the Polytechnic are not welcomed as noted in the statement made. Since the University was closed down in March as a result of the COVID 19 outbreak, these measures have been put in place to avoid the repetition of such action.
