The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa resumption date for the completion of the first semester for the 2019/2020 academic session, has been announced by the management of the institution following the ease of Federal Government restrictions concerning movement and academic activities which were put in place because of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The result of the 455th meeting of the academic board of the institution is the consideration and consequent approval of resumption of students and academic activities with effect from Monday, 16th November 2020.

The management of the institution expects members of staff as well as students to comply strictly with all COVID 19 guidelines and protocols provided by NCDC, NBTE as well as the Federal Ministry of Education to prevent any more spread of the deadly virus towards a safe academic environment. The COVID 19 preventive measures include the following:

  • Washing of hands and applying hand sanitizers regularly at offices, theatres, classrooms, laboratories, and other strategic positions.
  • Mandatory use of face masks/face shield.
  • Observance of social/physical distancing.
  • Observance of adequate spacing in classrooms, laboratories, workshops, offices, and also during meetings.
  • Checking of body temperature measurement as well as submitting.
  • Making sure that self-isolation is observed when the body temperature becomes too high or manifests other symptoms.
  • Make sure that any suspected case of the virus is reported to the Ag Director of Health Services at the Clinic to enable immediate referral to the nearest COVID 19 testing and isolation centres.

Deans, HODs, HoUs, Directors, Union Chairmen, Ag. Chief Security Officer, SUG President among others are requested to in line with the above ensure that the contents of the circular are brought to the compliance of all concerned.

The management of the institution has set up Sub-committees of Staff as well as Students on the observation /implementation of all COVID 19 protocols on the campus. It should be noted that anybody who is found defaulting will be held responsible for his/her negligence.

For non-compliance with the COVID 19 protocols by staff and students on the campus, defaulters would be sanctioned accordingly in line with the approved penalties. The management of the institution prays that nobody contracts the deadly virus as they all resume academic activities. Staff and students are hereby warned to comply accordingly.
