Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for the federal college of Animal health and production technology for the 2020/2021 academic session programme is one of the essential all applicants who are applying for a course in the university must be informed of. For all applicant’s below are the admission requirements for some of the courses offered by the institution;

– Remedial Programme

Evidence of attempting the senior school’s secondary school examination in GCE/NECO/WASSCE/NABTEB  or it’s equivalent in science and subject

— Environmental Health Assistant

Four ordinary passes in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB or it’s equivalent in not more than 2. Sitting in science subjects. A credit pass in the English language would be an added advantage.

— Environmental Health Technician

3 credit O level passes in WASSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or it’s equivalent in not more than 2 sittings in English, mathematics, and any other 2 science subjects such as ohyaivsy, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, Geology, Technical Drawing, health science or food nutrition

– National Diploma in Science Laboratory technology

5 credit passes in NABTEB/NECO/WASSCE/GCE or it’s equivalent in more than 2 sittings.

The five subjects include; English and Mathematics and any other two from physics, chemistry, biology or agricultural science, health science and any other two from Technical Drawing, metal and woodwork, basic electricity, geography or further mathematics. At least a pass in each of the subject of the basic science which includes, biology, chemistry and physics is compulsory

– National Diploma in Animal Health and production technology

5 credit level passes in NABTEB/WASSCE/GCE/NECO or it’s equivalent in not more than two sittings. Credit passes in English language, mathematics, biology or agricultural science and two subjects from chemistry, physics, geography, economics or commerce, food and nutrition, and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory

– National Diploma in Agricultural Technology

5 credit level passes in NABTEB/NECO/WASSCE/GCE or it’s equivalent in not more than two sittings. Credit passes in English, mathematics, biology, agricultural science and 2 subjects from chemistry, physics, geography, Economics or commerce, food and nutrition, and Technical Drawing. At least a  pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory.

– National Diploma in Fisheries Technology

5 O level passes in NABTEB/NECO/GCE/WASSCE and it’s equivalent in not more than two sittings. Credit passes in English, mathematics, biology or agricultural science and 2 subjects from chemistry, physics, food and nutrition, and Technical Drawing. At least a  pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory.

Applicants are to note that all national Diploma admission is through the jamb. In addition, applicant’s who posses ordinary level entry requirements regardless of whether they choose the college or not but have the minimum cut off marks of 120 in 2020 UTME can apply for National Diploma programmes.

– Higher National Diploma In Animal Health and Technology

  1. 5 credit passes in WASSCE/NECO/NABTEB/GCE or it’s equivalent in not more than 2 sittings. Credit passes in English, mathematics, biology or agricultural science and 2 subjects from chemistry, physics, geography, economics, commerce, food and nutrition or technical drawing and at least a pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory
  2. National Diploma in Animal health and production with a lower credit pass
  3. A minimum of one year Post ND cognate experience
  4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two or more years cognate experience may be considered
  5. The candidate must be from the national board for technical education accredited programs.
  6. National Diploma jamb admission letter

– Higher National Diploma In Animal Production Technology

  1. 5 credit level passes in NECO/NABTEB/WASSCE/GCE or it’s equivalent in not more than 2 sittings. Credit passes in English, mathematics, biology or agricultural science and 2 subjects from chemistry, physics, commerce, food, and nutrition, and Technical Drawing and at least a pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory
  2. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in Agricultural technology programme, Animal health, and production technology, wildlife and eco-tourism management, and innovation agricultural science
  3. A minimum of one year Post ND cognate experience
  4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two or more years cognate experience may be considered
  5. The candidate must be from the national board for technical education accredited programs.
  6. National Diploma jamb admission letter

– Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management

  1. 5 credit passes in NABTEB/NECO/WASSCE/GCE or it’s equivalent in not more than 2 sittings. The five subjects must include mathematics and English and other ordinary level credits relevant to the program
  2. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in any of the Agric program
  3. A minimum of one year Post ND cognate experience
  4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two or more years cognate experience may be considered
  5. The candidate must be from the national board for technical education accredited programs.
  6. National Diploma jamb admission letter

– Higher National Diploma in Fisheries Technology

  1. 5 credit passes in NABTEB/NECO/GCE/WASSCE or its equivalent in not more than two sittings. Credit passes in English and mathematics, biology or agricultural science and two subjects from chemistry, physics, economics or commerce, food and nutrition or technical drawing and at least a pass in chemistry and physics is compulsory
  2. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in Fisheries technology
  3. A minimum of one year Post ND cognate experience
  4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two or more years cognate experience may be considered
  5. The candidate must be from the national board for technical education accredited programs.

– Higher National Diploma in Pest Management Technology

  1. 5 credit passes in NABTEB/WASSCE/NECO/GCE or it’s equivalent in not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include English, mathematics, and ordinary level credits relevant to the program
  2. National Diploma in Agricultural technology, science laboratory technology, national institute Diploma in innovation agricultural with a minimum of lower credit
  3. A minimum of one year Post ND cognate experience
  4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two or more years cognate experience may be considered
  5. The candidate must be from the national board for technical education accredited programs.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are expected to visit the College portal “portal.fcahptvom.edu.ng” and fill the application form after the payment as follows:

i. One thousand naira (N1, 000) only for Environmental Health Assistant, Environmental Health Technician and ND programmes.
ii. Three thousand naira (N3, 000) only for HND programmes.

CLOSING DATE FOR COMPLETION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

Candidates are expected to complete and submit the application form online and printout an acknowledgment slip on or before 3rd September, 2021.

DATE FOR SCREENING OF CANDIDATES

The screening of all prospective candidates with the exception of Remedial candidates will hold on Saturday 18th September, 2021 by 8am in the college premises.

Candidates are to come with the acknowledgement slip printed after completing the Pre-Screening Registration form (application form), all original and photocopy of their credentials for the exercise and to pay online the following screening fees:

i. One thousand naira (N1, 000) only for Environmental Health Assistant, Environmental Health Technician and ND programmes.
ii. Two thousand naira (N2, 000) only for HND programmes
