EKSU JAMB Admission Requirements

The University will also consider UTME candidates who did not choose EKSU initially but scored 140 and above in the 2024 UTME.

They are ready to change their first choice of institution to EKSU on their JAMB CAPS. Ekiti State University (EKSU) will give concessions to successful students from its Pre-Degree and JUBEB Programmes in keeping with Senate approval.

Candidates with 5 Credit Passes, including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE/NECO/NABTEB, could be considered for admission at not more than two sittings.

The university minimum UTME scores for law, Nursing, and Medicine (MBBS) are 240, 220, and 250, respectively. Candidates with lower scores in any of the courses above may apply for PUMTME screening into other classes of their choice.

Is it Called Remedial or Pre-Degree in EKSU?

At Ekiti State University (EKSU), it is called a pre-degree program. The pre-degree program is a one-year program that prepares students to sit for JAMB and qualifying examination conducted annually. A successful candidate in both studies is automatically qualified for admission into the 100 level of EKSU.

Pre-Degree to Undergraduate Admission Requirements

The minimum academic qualification is five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, and any other three (3) relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.

Candidates must pass JAMB and meet or surpass the school cut-off mark of 140. The university minimum UTME scores for law, Nursing, and Medicine (MBBS) are 240, 220, and 250, respectively. Direct-Entry Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB examinations, including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two relevant subjects, one of which must be a Social Science, Management, or Commercial subject. It is possible to substitute Commerce for Economics as a course option for the B.Sc. degree.

Do EKSU Offer JUPEB or IJMB Programme?

The advanced level programme candidates can apply for at Ekiti State University (EKSU) is JUPEB.

Ekiti State University Part-Time Undergraduate Requirements

Applicants must possess the O/L requirements as contained in i – ix for the intended programme of study. In addition, candidates must have;

(a) National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit from a recognized institution or

(b) At least two GCE A/L passes in relevant subjects.

Sandwich Undergraduate Degree Admission Requirements

  • 4-Year Programme for Direct Entry

  1. Passes at credit/merit level in two subjects at the NCE and credit passes in (five) 5 subjects at GCE O/Level, including English Language or its equivalent at not more than two sittings. A pass at the NCE General English is also acceptable instead of a credit pass at the SSCE, GCE O/Level English.
  2. Three (3) passes at GCE Advanced Level plus credit passes b. in five (5) other subjects at GCE O/Level or SSCE.
  3. Nursing and Midwifery Certificate plus a Post-Nursing Diploma with Credit passes in five (5) O/Level subjects. Including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings is acceptable for B.Sc (Ed) Health Education.
  • 5-Year Programme

  1. Passes in two major subjects in the NCE plus credit passes in five (5) subjects at GCE O/Level or its equivalent. A pass at the NCE General English is also acceptable instead of a credit pass at the SSCE/GCE O/Level English.
  2. Passes at credit/merit level in two major subjects of the Associate Diploma in Education with GCE O/Level credit passes or equivalent in five (5) subjects at least two sittings.
  3. National Diploma with credit/merit passes in relevant subjects plus credit passes in five (5) GCE O/Level subjects at not more than two sittings.
  4. Passes at credit level in five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at the GCE, WAEC, SSCE, NABTEB O/Level—diploma in Data Processing from recognized Universities.
  5. Nursing and Midwifery Certificate and O/Level credit passes in five (5) other subjects are acceptable for the B.Sc (Ed) in Physical and Health Education.
  6. Five credit/merit passes in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics in NABTEB. Is acceptable for the B.Sc (Ed) Technical Education.

Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate

A graduate from a recognized University with a Third Class at the first degree in a relevant programme may be admitted, provided the Matriculation and Departmental requirements of Ekiti State University are satisfied. A holder of a minimum of Upper Credit in HND from a recognized institution may also be admitted.

Master’s Degree Programme

  1. A candidate with a first degree from a recognized University having a minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division may be admitted. Provided the University Matriculation and Departmental requirements are satisfied.
  2. A candidate with a minimum of Credit 3.5 on a score of 5.0, i.e. A weighted average score of 60.0 in the Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized University, may also be admitted.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

  1. A candidate with a good Master’s degree (NOT a Professional Master’s degree) with a weighted average of not below 60.0 or a CGPA of3.5 on a relative score of 5.0 in the relevant or related discipline, which includes course work and a defended research dissertation from a recognized University may be admitted, provided the University Matriculation and Departmental requirements are satisfied.
  2. A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 or 60.0 weighted average score is required for candidates converting from M.Phil. to Ph.D.
  3. In addition to these admission requirements, candidates may be required to present themselves for selection tests and interviews at both Master’s, M. Phil/ Ph. D. and Ph.D. Programmes.
