About the Covenant University Postgraduate Admission Form for 2020/2021 Academic Session

In other, for you to be considered for admission into any of the Postgraduates programmes, a candidate is expected to satisfy the general requirements for the university as well as any other important requirements for admission to the programme that they are interested in studying.
Covenant University is now inviting applications from all interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission into the covenant university postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Masters and Ph.D. degrees for the academic session of 2020/2021.
A. Masters & Ph.D. Programmes
General Requirements
Candidates who are interested are to complete the application form using the University of the portal and make provision for all relevant documents as stated in the application form, along with certificates of degrees and/or diplomas, reference letters, academic transcripts, and a 500-word statement of intent in the research area proposed.
Nigerian citizens who are interested shall, in addition, make provision for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
All the candidates are to request and ensure that the institution(s) attended the process and forward official academic transcript(s) directly to the Dean, and School of Postgraduate Studies. Only candidates whose transcripts have been received will be placed under consideration for admission.
Masters Degree Programme
Candidates who are looking forward to admission to the Master’s degree Programme of Covenant University are expected to be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from Covenant University or any other University that has been recognized by Covenant University Senate, with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant discipline.
candidates in possession of a Third-Class Bachelor’s degree or HND (Upper Credit) who in addition, are in possession of a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in a relevant discipline may be considered. The Minimum duration of study to be awarded a Master’s degree is two academic sessions for full-time.
Ph.D. Degree Programme
Interested Candidates looking forward to admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree Programme of Covenant University are expected to be in possession of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees of Covenant University or any other recognized university Covenant University senate in the relevant discipline.
To qualify for direct entry into the Ph.D. degree programme, interested candidates is expected to be in possession of a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or equivalent ( 6 0 % ) in the Masters(M.A/M.Sc/M.Eng/M.Tech) degree result.
Candidates that graduated with a CGPA of 3.50–3.99 on a 5.00 point scale or equivalent (55–59%) in the Master’s degree stand a chance to be considered for M.Phil/Ph.D. programme. Covenant University will award M.Phil degree to M.Phil/Ph.D. the candidate that did not meet up to the minimum CGPA of 4.00 after they have completed their examination coursework.
Such candidates are expected to proceed to write a long essay/project and upon defending their project successfully they would be awarded an M.Phil degree in their respective discipline.
The M.Phil/Ph.D. programme was designed to prepare candidates for the Ph.D. degree. Candidates who are professional Master’s degrees are not eligible for the Ph.D. programme only if they have obtained M.Sc degrees in the relevant fields. The Ph.D. programs is expected to go on for a minimum of three academic sessions for full-time mode.
B. Covenant Business School (CBS)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Covenant Business School (CBS) is offering a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree Programme with the following options: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, and Real Estate.
Candidates looking forward to admission to the MBA degree Programme are expected to be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of a second-class lower division from Covenant University or any other recognized university by the Senate.
Candidates in possession of Third-Class Bachelor’s degree, HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in a relevant discipline or professional qualifications such as ACA, ICAN, ACIB, etc. must possess in addition, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of about 3.50 to qualify for admission.
The programme is expected to hold for a duration of two academic sessions for an MBA degree (Full-time). “Applicants are expected to note that all postgraduate programmes in Covenant University are on a full-time basis except the M.Sc/ACIB programme that takes place on part-time.

Screening and Selection Criteria
Applicants will be required to undertake a screening exercise that involves written and oral tests in the programme of their choice. Possess a minimum score of 50% in each of the categories is required for a candidate to be placed under consideration for eligible admission. Candidate’s academic transcript(s) must have been received before the last admission could be processed.

International Candidates
International candidates who may be applying for any of the programmes would have their screening examinations conducted on-line. Such candidates are expected to forward their intention (interest) by email to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies on this link: deansps@covenantuniversity.edu.ng to include their Skype ID phone number and time/date of choice.
Procedures for Online Application
First, log on to http://sps.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/ (the website of covenant university Postgraduate Studies).
Go to the 2020/2021 postgraduate admissions link, where you will be asked to go through the outlined steps below:
- Create a personal account for your admission process (do not make use of this password to your private email)
- Once the account creation process is successful, login to your account and then complete the online form
- The payment page would be displayed for you immediately after you click on the submit button after you have completed the form successfully.
- The application form is N15,0000.00 (fifteen thousand nairas) with an added bank transaction of N6000.00 and N900.00 for a bank or online payment respectively.
- Students can make their payment at covenant microfinance bank, GTBank, and Ecobank).
- Immediately after a successful payment, you would be required to upload your passport Photograph, after which your number for an application would be displayed for you (Please copy it).
