Covenant University Full-Time Undergraduate Admission Criteria

Covenant University offers multiple full-time degrees through JAMB, Direct entry, JUPEB, IJMB, or inter-university transfer. The admission process and requirements for a full-time undergraduate degree are below.

Generally, the minimum entry requirement for undergraduate programs in Covenant University is possessing credit level passes in 5 subjects at the Ordinary Level examination of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/IGCSE. The subjects must include English Language and Mathematics. These must have been obtained at not more than two sittings.

JAMB Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking Covenant University through the JAMB admission process must meet the following requirements.

Firstly, Candidates must meet the minimum cut-off point of 180 in their JAMB UTME.
Candidates must possess at least a credit pass in Mathematics, English Language and 3 other subjects relevant to their choice of study in their O-level certificate.
Lastly, candidates must ensure they pick the right subject combination in their UTME relevant to their choice of study.

Is it Called Remedial or Pre-Degree at Covenant University?

Covenant University Part-Time Undergraduate Admission Criteria

Covenant University Postgraduate Admission Criteria 2024/25

Covenant University welcomes applications from suitable candidates who meet the requirements for admission into the following full-time and part-time Postgraduate Programs at Covenant University. Applicants can find the criteria for the program below.

Generally, Candidates shall provide the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate. Also, each candidate shall request and ensure that the institution(s) attended the process and forward official academic transcript(s) directly to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies.

The school will only consider candidates whose transcripts they receive for admission.

Covenant University Full-Time Postgraduate Admission Criteria

Covenant University offers multiple full-time postgraduate degrees, which are;

Master’s degree (MSc)
Doctorate (PhD)

Interested candidates shall complete the application form on the University portal and provide all relevant documents as specified on the application form, including certificates of degrees and diplomas, academic transcripts, reference letters, statement of purpose, concept note on the proposed area of research and nomination of potential supervisor(s) from the department of their interests.

Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate

Covenant University currently does not offer a postgraduate diploma (PGD). However, interested candidates can interact with the departmental websites via the School of Postgraduate Studies website for more details.

Master’s Degree Programme

Candidates seeking admission into the Master’s degree Programme of Covenant University shall possess a Bachelor’s degree from Covenant University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University.

Preferably, candidates with First Class, Second Class (Upper Division) and Second Class (Lower Division with not less than 3.00 CGPA in the relevant disciplines may apply.

Holders of HND with a postgraduate diploma are not eligible for admission into the Master’s programme. The minimum duration of study for the award of the Master’s degree is two academic sessions full-time.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

Candidates seeking admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree Program of Covenant University shall possess the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees of Covenant University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University in the relevant disciplines.

Also, to qualify for direct entry into the PhD degree program, a candidate shall have a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or equivalent (60%) in the Master’s (M.A/MSc/MEng/MTech) degree result.

For Candidates with a CGPA of 3.50–3.99 on a 5.00 point scale or equivalent (55–59%) in the Master’s degree, the school may consider the M.Phil/Ph.D programme.

Covenant University Part-Time Postgraduate Admission Criteria
