Benue State was created on the 3rd of February 1976 by the formal administration of General Murtala Mohammed. The state can be found in the northern part of the country, its capital is Makurdi and there are 23 local government areas in the state.

There are four universities in the state and they are one state, two federal and one private university. The predominantly tribe in the state are Tiv, Igede and Idoma and the state focuses on agriculture. Benue State borders Taraba State to the east, Kogi State t the west and Enugu State to the Southwest. Cross rivers state to the south and Nassawara State to the North.

Admission Requirements

Students need five credits in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council). Subjects in WAEC or NECO should include Mathematics, English Language, Biology and Chemistry. The JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) examination is not compulsory.
