The general public is to be informed that the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), school of continuing Education (SCE), Application forms for the academic session of 2019/2020 has commenced.

BUK Part-Time Degree Admission Requirements

Interested applicants for admission to the programmes are expected to meet all the requirements stated below.

– UTME ADMISSION

Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of five O level credits in relevant subjects of which English and must be included at a maximum of two sittings.
  • A minimum of 180 points at 2019/2020 UTME. Note that only interested applicants that selected the Bayero University, Kano as their first choice would be eligible to apply.
  • Plus, interested applicants for admission into B.SC, Accounting, B.Sc. Health Education and B.Sc. (Ed) Economics must also have credits in ‘O’ Level Mathematics.
  • Are expected to be holders of the National Arabic and Islamic Studies Certificates (NBAIS) can only apply for B.A. Arabic and B.A. Islamic Studies.

– DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION

All the interested applicants for admission into the programmes is expected to meet the following conditions:

  • Candidates are to possess a recognized Advanced level qualification in an area relevant to the programmes of their choice. Such qualification(s) include (s) National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Interim joint matriculation Board (IJMB) – (with a minimum of 6 points), Nursing Certificate, Diploma in Health Education, Diploma in community health, Diploma in Environmental health, general Certificates of Education (GCE) ‘A’ Level and any other relevant qualification(s).
  • Are to possess a minimum of five (5) O’ Level credits in Subjects relevant, including English.
  • Expected to at least be 25 years old and above.
  • Applicants for admission into B.Sc Accounting, B.Sc. business administration, B.Sc. mathematics, B.Sc (Ed) mathematics. While candidates for B. Nursing Science and B.Sc. health Education are expected to have credits in English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Are expected to be holders of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies Certificates (NBAIS) can only apply for B.A. Arabic and B.A. Islamic Studies.
  • Interested candidates that are applying for B.Sc public administration are expected to possess credit in Government/history in addition.

BUK Part-Time Degree Degree Mode of Delivery & Duration

The programmes have been scheduled to run on a part-time basis. The course would be taught via the normal lectures and practical classes that would be held in the evenings and through the weekends at the Bayero University’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) situated on Aminu Kano Way, close to Gwauron Dutse Hill within Kano City. The programmes have been scheduled to run all through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Mode.

The admission has been scheduled to be done via Direct entry (Level 200). The duration has been scheduled for five years.

How to Apply for BUK Part-Time Degree Form

Step 1:

The applicant is expected to visit the JAMB Online Application Platform for Part-Time Degree Programme, choose BUK, access the form, fill it and pay a non-refundable payment of Three Thousand Five Hundred Naira only (N3,500:00) into the JAMB’S Account starting from Monday 23rd November 2020 to Monday 4th January 2021.

Step 2:

The Applicant should further approach the University Portal using the URL www.buk.edu.ng Starting from Tuesday 24th November 2020 and then Click PART-TIME APPLICATION FORM at the homepage. Login using your JAMB NO, PROGRAMME SELECTED, and GENDER.

Step 3:

After logging in, enter all the necessary sections made available by the Application Portal.

Step 4:

Generate your personalized invoice. After that, the invoice should be printed and taken to any Bank in other to make a payment of the Processing Fee of Seven Thousand Naira (N7, 000:00) only. Ensure you read the Payment Procedure carefully on the Payment Procedure Page.

Step 5:

Review your form in other to make sure of the accuracy of all information that you provided.

Step 6:

After the payment has been made, generate your Acknowledgement Slip. Print the Slip and make sure you keep it safe. The Slip would be required during the collection of the Admission Letter and during Registration.

NOTE

The Payment of the Processing Fee is scheduled to open at Banks Starting from Tuesday 1st December 2020 and closes Friday 29th January 2021.
