Applicants seeking admission into the First Year of any degree course in the University must be qualified for admission before the beginning of the session in which they wish to enter. The applicants must meet the following:

UTME Score Requirement: Prospective candidates who aspire to secure admission into any of our 24 academic programmes must have participated in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Candidates must obtain a UTME score of below 140 to be considered eligible. Please note that some of Bayelsa Medical University’s (BMU) programme’s cut-off marks are above 140. They include;

General O’level Requirements: Apart from the Health Care Administration and Hospital Management programme, all academic programmes demand a minimum of five (5) credits at the O’level Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
