Bells university is inviting applications from all suitably qualified candidates for admission into the postgraduate programmes for the academic session of 2021/2022.

Bells University Postgraduate Courses, Requirements & Duration

Master of Science (M.Sc):

1. COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES

– Department of Biological Sciences

• M.Sc Microbiology.
• M.Sc Biotechnology.

Admission Requirements

• Candidates are expected to meet the O’ level requirements for the matriculation into the first degree programmes of the university i.e. five (5) credit passes at maximum of two sittings of which English language and Mathematics must be included.
• Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree from Bells university of technology, or any other approved university, with a minimum of second-class lower division in any relevant fields.
• Candidates with a third-class degree or HND (Upper Credit) plus university PGD in any relevant subject may also be placed under consideration for admission.

– Department of Chemical, Food and Nutrition Sciences

• M.Sc Biochemistry.

2. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

– Department of Architecture

• M.Sc Architecture.

Admission Requirements:

• Candidates are expected to satisfy the O’level requirements for the matriculation into the first degree programmes of the university i.e. Five (5) credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which English Language and mathematics must be included.
• Candidates are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree from the bell’s university of technology or another university that has been approved with at least a second-class lower division in a relevant field.
• Candidates that are with a third-class degree plus University PGD in a relevant subject may also be considered for admission.
• In addition, interested candidates with Third class degree from Bells university of technology, or any other university that has been approved with 2 years (24 months) logged internship with an NIA/ARCON Registered Architect may also be placed under consideration for admission.

3. COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

• M.Sc. Accounting.

Admission Requirements for M.Sc Programmes:

• Candidates are expected to satisfy the O’level requirements for the matriculation into the first degree programmes of the university i.e. Five (5) credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which English Language and mathematics must be included.
• Candidates are expected to possess a Bachelor’s degree from the bell’s university of technology, or another university that has been approved with at least a second-class lower division in a relevant field.
• Candidates that with a third-class degree in any field that is relevant and University PGD in a subject may also be considered for admission.
• For M.Sc in transport Management, candidates are expected to be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: management Sciences, transport management, Aviation technology, logistics and supply Chain Management, Geography, and Engineering.

Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A):

Admission Requirements

• Candidates are expected to satisfy the O’level requirements for the matriculation into the first degree programmes of the university i.e. Five (5) credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which English Language and mathematics must be included.
• Candidates are expected to possess a Bachelor’s degree from the bell’s university of technology, or another university that has been approved with at least a second-class lower division in a relevant field.
• All the Graduates of Bells university of technology, Ota or any other recognized university with a third-class degree and a Postgraduates Diploma (PGD) in management and other related disciplines.

OR

• All Holders of HND Plus Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in management, finance and administration disciplines (of bells university of technology or other universities that have been recognized Universities) are eligible for the admission or HND in Business administration, Accounting, Finance and Management related disciplines with relevant professional qualifications like ACA, ACIS, ACCA, NIM, etc.
• Interested applicants are expected to possess a minimum of one-year of work experience, preferably in a managerial or administrative capacity.
• Expected to deliver a satisfactory performance at the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Administered by the bell’s university of technology, Ota is very important for all the applicants.

– Department of Computer Science and Information Technology

• PGD Computer Science

Admission requirements

• Five credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which mathematics and English Language must be included. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree from Bells university of technology or any other university that has been approved, with at least a minimum of a Third-class degree in a relevant discipline.
• All the holders of HND in programmes that are relevant from an approved institution with a minimum of upper credit may be placed under consideration for admission.

Admission Requirements

• Five credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which English and mathematics must be included.
• Candidates that are with a Bachelor degree from the Bells University of technology or any other university that has been approved, with a minimum of Third-Class degree in a relevant discipline.
• Are to be holders of HND in any programme that is relevant from an approved institution with a minimum of Upper Credit may also be considered for admission.
• Sc. and postgraduate Diploma candidates may be expected to satisfy the requirements of the relevant department in the process of the selection.
• In addition, the candidate would be required to meet all the other requirements of the postgraduate school.

Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.):

Admission Requirements for Ph.D. Programmes:

• Candidates are expected to meet the ‘O’ level requirements for the matriculation into the first degree programmes of the university i.e. 5 credit passes at a maximum of two sittings of which mathematics and English Language.

For Ph.D. Architecture, Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree by course work in Architecture or any other field that is relevant (Housing, Architectural Science, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design etc.) with a weighted score that is not lower than 60% or CGPA of 3.5 and thesis score not lower than 60% or
• An M.Phil degree in Architecture. Candidates with M.Phil, M. Arch., M.E.D or M.Sc. (Arch) professional degree or equivalent from a university that is recognised with 60% overall score.
• Candidates are expected to present a research proposal along with the application form for evaluation. A candidate with M.Phil. the degree will be allowed to transfer to PhD if he/she fulfils the following requirements:
• finish all course work with a CGPA of not less than 3.50 in the programme;
• Submits to the Postgraduate School, a research plan considered suitable for pursuing a Ph. D degree in Architecture.

For PhD. Building Services, Candidates must possess:

• Possess a Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other University that has been approved in a relevant discipline, with a weighted average of 60% and above
• Phil. pass degree from the Bells University of Technology or any other University that have been approved.
• The PhD. Building Services programme is offered as a 100% research programme. Candidates would be required to provide solutions to industry-relevant problems by carrying out original research work.

For PhD. Project Management, Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree from the Bells University of Technology or any other University that have been approved with a Weighted Average of not less than 60% or an M.Phil. in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Management, Project Management and Construction Management Technology from a recognized University.

For Ph.D. Electrical /Electronics Engineering, Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other University that have been approved in a relevant discipline, with a weighted average of 60% and above;
• Phil pass degree from Bells University or any other University that have been approved.

For PhD. Mechanical Engineering, Candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University in a discipline that is relevant, with a weighted average of 60% and above
• Phil. pass degree from the Bells University of Technology or any other approved University

For Ph.D. Estate Management, Candidates must possess:

An M.Tech. degree of Bells University of Technology, Ota, in Estate Management or equivalent degree from any other University that has been approved with an overall CGPA of 3.5.

For Ph.D. Biotechnology, Candidates must possess:

A Master’s degree in the field of Biological Sciences with a weighted average not lower than 60%. Candidates with an M.Phil. Degree in a relevant field will also be considered for admission. Candidates with M.Phil/Ph.D. grade masters result would be requested to write PhD conversion examinations. Candidates with M.Sc. certificate with M.Phil/Ph.D. grade are required to take some courses before going to Industrial Biotechnology

Duration of Programmes:

• M.Sc: Generally, M.Sc programmes have been scheduled to run for a minimum period of three (3) semesters; whilst Architecture and MBA programmes have been scheduled to run for a minimum period of four (4) semesters.
• Postgraduate Diploma programmes have been scheduled to run for a minimum period of two (2) semesters.
