About the African Art in Context Call for Submissions 2020: African Resilience in the Wake of a Pandemic

The world, the continent, and all lives were dramatically reshaped by the emergence of a global pandemic. However, hope is seen amidst the disruption. There are innovators who are rising to respond to the challenges. Communities are all stepping up to take into practice the precaution that is required. Everybody is doing what he/she can and what must also be done to ensure everyone keeps going, safely.

All these stories seek to be told by the African Art in Context Call for Submissions. The narrative surrounding Africa too often in crises is dominated by inordinate fear and negativity.
