This is to inform the general public about the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) School of Basic Remedial IJMB Admission Form for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. Official details about the form are given below.

AFIT School of Basic Remedial Admission Form 2024/2025

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the School of Basic Remedial Studies and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Programme of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

SCHOOL OF BASIC REMEDIAL STUDIES REQUIREMENTS

Admission Requirements Qualification:

Social and Management Sciences:

Applicants must Pass five subjects at Credit Level at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB and should Include the core subjects of their intended course of study.

Note: that Credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for eventual admission into any programme. Two of the five subjects must be from Social Arts while the other subjects may be from the Social Sciences.

Engineering and Sciences:

Applicants must pass the following subjects at credit level: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at NOT more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC/NECO and NABTEB

DURATION OF PROGRAMMEย 

The programme is for a duration of two semesters (one academic session).

ELIGIBILITYย 

The basic programme is primarily open to applicants who couldn’t secure admission into AFIT based on having a UTME score below the JAMB cut-off point. However, applicants who have applied to other universities may also be considered.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Applicants with credit passes in five(5) O Level subjects but with a deficiency in English Language or Mathematics may apply for the programme; PROVIDED that they MUST register for and obtain credit passes in the subject before being considered for admission into the degree programme.

Consideration for admission into programmes shall be based on performance and quota for each programme.

Admitted Remedial candidates who pass the School’s examinations at the end of the programme and obtain the minimum UTME cut-off point approved by the university shall be considered for admission into degree programmes based on performance and quota for each programme.

IJMB ENTRY REQUIREMENTSย 

Candidates must have obtained at least five (5) credits, which include English Language, General Mathematics, and three other subjects, in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Admission into AFIT is considered a high possibility, provided a student completes the IJMB programme. Must have sat and passed IJMBE with at least 10 points and above.

Notable Information for Admissionย 

Students admitted into the IJMB Programme must meet the requirements listed above. After registration, they will undergo a one-year intensive programme.

All successfully admitted and registered students are placed into one of the five (5) academic groups: IJMB 1, IJMB 2, IJMB 3, IJMB 4, IJMB 5 and IJMB 6. Each student is given a group by considering his/her intended future career and the Oโ€“level credits obtained.

โ€‹โ€‹METHOD OF APPLICATIONย 

โ€ข Candidates must visit the School of Basic and Remedial Studies website at https://portal.afit.edu.ng/ and follow the 2024/2025 Academic Session link.

โ€ข Application forms must be completed online after a non-refundable payment of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) using Interswitched-enabled ATM cards.

A candidate offered admission would be expected to bring the completed form and SSCE/GCE certificates/results slip during registration.

The application portals for the School of Remedial Studies and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) will open on Monday, July 29th, 2024.
