ABUAD JAMB Admission Requirements

Current Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME) Result

Five O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and IGCSE) Credit Passes in one sitting to include English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, and any other 2 Social Sciences or Arts Subjects are required for admission into the College of Law.

Five O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and IGCSE) Credit Passes in one sitting, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, are required for admission into the MBBS Programme.

Other Programmes: Five O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB and IGCSE) Credit Passes at not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other subjects relevant to the course of study.

Results of PAST Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME) are not allowed.

Candidates awaiting SSCE results or its equivalent can also apply for Admission provided they qualify when results are available.

Is it Called Remedial or Pre-Degree in ABUAD?

At Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), it is called a pre-degree program. The pre-degree program is a one-year program that prepares students to sit for JAMB and qualifying examination conducted annually. A successful candidate in both studies is automatically qualified for admission into the 100 level of ABUAD.

Pre-Degree to Undergraduate Admission Requirements

The minimum academic qualification is five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, and any other three (3) relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Possess the Advance Level of General Certificate of Education or equivalent in at least two subjects. Possess a National Diploma in Public Administration and relevant courses from a recognised institution approved by the Senate of Afe Babalola University.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmes Admission Criteria

The criteria for admission into the PGD programme in Peace and Conflict Studies will be as follows:

  1. Candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirements of the University, including English Language.
  2. However, a minimum of a 3rd-class bachelor’s degree in peace and conflict studies or a related discipline is awarded by an approved and accredited university.

Master’s Degree Programme Admission Requirements

  1. Candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirements of the University, including English Language at the O/level.
  2. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies or related discipline from an approved university accredited by the NUC.

On a five-point scale, candidates with a minimum of second-class lower degree and a CGPA of 3.00.

Candidates with a postgraduate diploma degree in peace and conflict studies or from a cognate discipline awarded by a recognized institution with not less than an upper credit.

Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate

The criteria for admission into the PGD Programme are as follows:

  1. Five Credit Passes, including English, Mathematics and other relevant subjects at ‘O’.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree holders from any NUC-approved university with a minimum of a third-class degree in a relevant field.

HND in relevant Programmes from approved institutions with a minimum of Lower Credit.

Master’s Degree Programme

The criteria for admission into the Master’s Programme (M. Sc.) is as follows:

  1. Five Credit Passes, including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level.
  2. A minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline of universities approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

University Degree in Third Class or HND plus a university PGD with Credit Level Pass.

The criterion for admission into the M.Phil. The nursing Programme is as follows:

M.Sc. Degree in Nursing with a Weighted Average Score of 50 to 54.9% or CGPA

of 3.00 to 3.49 on a 5.00 Grade Point.

Master of Engineering Programmes

The criteria for admission into the Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) The programme is as follows:

  1. A First Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division, provided the University Matriculation.
  2. An Upper Credit Pass in the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized University, provided the University Matriculation requirements are satisfied.

Professional Master’s Degree Programme

  1. A minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline of Universities approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
  2. University Degree with Third Class or HND plus a University PGD at Credit Level Pass for admission into Professional Master’s Degree.

Demonstration of adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision-making and problem-solving.

Doctoral Degree (PhD) Programme

  1. Relevant Master’s Degree from Afe Babalola University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Afe Babalola University with a Minimum of 60% or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 on a 5.00 Grade.
  2. Any candidate with a CGPA from 00 to 3.49 shall be,

Admitted into M.Phil./Ph.D. The programme, except Engineering, with the opportunity of converting to Ph.D. Programme later.

The criteria for admission into Ph. D. Nursing Programme are as follows:

  1. A Master’s Degree in Nursing with a Weighted Average not less than 60% or a CGPA of 4.00 to 5.00 on a 5.00 Grade
  2. Master of Philosophy Degree (M. ) in Nursing with a Weighted Average of 55 to 59% or CGPA of 3.50 to 3.99 on a 5.00 Grade Point.
